Respite Short-Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is support for when you need to live out of home for a short period. Short Term Accommodation funding can be used for respite to support you and your carers. This gives your carers a short break from their caring role.

Sometime a short stay away from home:

  • gives you a chance to try new things
  • can be a place to make new friends or develop new skills
  • may help maintain the current living situation by giving your formal supports a break

Short term accommodation may suit your needs if your usual support network isn't available for a short period.

Why should you respite with us?

At Core our passionate and experienced team has your comfort as a priority. We have designed our cosy respite house to be a home away from home. The Core house is located in Belmont, only a short walk or drive from local parks, shops and our communities hot-spots.

During a respite stay some of our guests have enjoyed:

  • Playing the playstation, switch and iPad games
  • Going for a walk to the local park
  • Cooking snacks and learning to make their favourite meal
  • having a movie night (popcorn yum)
  • relaxing with some down time, mindful art or puzzles
  • taking our therapy dog Luigi for a walk
  • learning how to do laundry
  • learning how to make their bed and upkeep personal hygiene
  • maintaining their routines

These are only some of the fun activities and daily living skills we can enjoy support you with during your stay.
